re the KIDS of POOR PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD $4 FRAPPUCINOS before SCHOOL...& the poor people who can afford numerous $8 dollar beers at dodger baseball games, etc. have you ever noticed this around los angeles? I have. And some of these are the same "poor people" who get free meals at the L.A. public schools. So while I care for those who are truly in poverty it makes me anguished when I see some of this behavior around southern California. It makes me realize the "system" is being abused in some way. And it makes me realize some of our American "poor" are not really truly poor, except perhaps in terms of education & concern & care for others; but financially & materially, although they may live in "run-down" neighborhoods they have MORE than many middle-class people in terms of giant-screen TVs, expendable income for frappucinos & beer at baseball games, and the list goes on. It makes me anguish for the true poor such as those in Africa who are actually dying from poverty, & dying from malnutrition. Let us strive to make the "poor Americans" rich in compassion & stewardship so that they use their expendable income to help the true poor.
